SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager performs maintenance activities in a timely manner adhering to all safety regulations on production, facilities and machine tool machinery and equipment. Must be able to perform repairs and report activities in the manner designated by the company maintenance department standards and other responsibilities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform routine/scheduled maintenance on all production and facilities machinery and equipment.
Repair broken or faulty machinery and equipment in a timely and safe manner.
Have working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.
When work is completed, check for proper assembly, safety hazards, test equipment and clean-up work area of all debris in accordance with FOD.
Maintain service and preventive maintenance records for all machinery and equipment.
Promote teamwork and communication with all company and vendor employees.
Adhere to all company safety, hazmat, and material handling regulations.
Adjust work schedules based on production demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to read schematics, hydraulic, pneumatic and machine drawings.
Possess the ability to troubleshoot machine and equipment failures and determine the root cause(s) and suggest counter measures to prevent reoccurrences.
Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Able to comprehend and act on information presented in group settings such as training sessions or meetings involving all personnel in their department, job class and/or plant meetings.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units using standard and metric units. Ability to measure electrical currents and voltages, hydraulic and pneumatic pressures and use standard dimensional measuring tools.
Ability to understand verbal instructions and to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
Required to stand and walk, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach.
Frequently required to bend over, lean in, stoop or crouch.
Occasionally required to climb or balance and must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Specific vision abilities to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Bilingual Spanish a BIG PLUS.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of 1 year in maintenance
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
SPECIAL INDUSTRY SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Technical experience and/or training relating to field.
