Dynamic Workers’ Compensation defense law firm seeking experienced receptionist/file & medical records clerk. This is an entry level position. We are looking to fill one position.

Who We Are:

We are a small, approachable, fast-paced, busy, client-focused, and goal-oriented Workers’ Compensation defense law firm in Tustin, California. We represent major employers (insured and permissibly self-insured), third-party administrators, insurance carriers, and uninsured employers in California Workers’ Compensation cases throughout the State of California at all northern and southern California WCAB venues. We also provide representation to our clients in subrogation matters relative to claims involving at-fault third parties stemming from workers’ compensation claims.

The Job and What We Offer:

Full-time, hourly, in-person position with work hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. standard pacific time, Mondays through Fridays. The job requires proficient writing, typing, and word processing skills. Computer software knowledge is a must. Knowledge and proficiency in MS Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, PDF files, etc. is necessary.

Proficient knowledge in the WCAB’s EAMS/FileNet system is preferable. Additionally, the firm’s filing system is paperless. Therefore, the ideal candidate should have prior knowledge and proficiency with Meruscase. These requirements are preferable, but not necessary.

Ability to work as a team player, and follow directives as specified is an absolute must. There are no solo players at this firm. The ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn.

The job will require the ideal candidate to answer phones, and engage with opposing counsel, WCAB staff, Lien Claimants, and other vendors in coordinating and scheduling depositions, doctor cross-examinations, Informal Settlement Conferences, Mediations, AME/PQME evaluations. Therefore, an approachable and friendly personality is preferable.

The job will require the ideal candidate to scan, sort incoming mail, fax, and label documents into the correct case file in Meruscase. Processing of outgoing mail is also required.

The job will require the ideal candidate to assist legal assistants, at the direction of the managing attorney, with the preparation of AME/PQME Advocacy Letters with Medical Index and Page Count Declaration page.
