Scratch Bakery Cafe located in Fashion Island is seeking experienced cooks to join our dedicated kitchen staff! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our kitchen.
Must be available from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm and on weekends. Bilingual (English & Spanish) highly desired. Must be able to read and speak English.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare all served food
Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
Follow standard recipes
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience cooking in restaurants with emphasis on breakfast and lunch.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
Strong attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well in teams
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work and move at a production rate of speed.
Possession of California Food Handlers Certificate required or the ability to obtain with 7 days of hire.
Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to frequently lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
Ability to frequently reach and maneuver product filled containers within the range of floor level to overhead.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist and turn up to 8 hours.
Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and good balance are necessary.
Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful and maintain composure in dealing with co-workers.
Must possess good communication skills and be able to read and follow written instructions.
Must maintain professionalism during both peak and slower periods.
Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to knives, ovens, mixers and other work aides necessary to perform job duties. Frequent exposure for brief periods of time to 03° Fahrenheit while handling products in the walk-in and freezer.
Working conditions consist of a commercial kitchen production area in a temperature-controlled environment. Hands are frequently exposed to water and cleaning agents.
