Position Title: Line Cook

Job Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to the restaurant's recipes and standards. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Line Cook will collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality food service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices according to recipes.
- Cooking: Cook menu items to order, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the restaurant's specifications and quality standards.
- Station Management: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper storage of food items and equipment.
- Food Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling, cooking, and storage of food.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and servers, to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak hours.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about the menu, including daily specials, and be able to communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding food items.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notifying management of any shortages or needed supplies.
- Cleaning: Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred, 2 years.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must speak fluent English
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Sunday availability required
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment.
