Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen is currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team.

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

We are in search of a talented chef with exceptional cooking skills, coupled with administrative skill. The responsibilities include:

Overseeing Kitchen Staff: Ensure that the kitchen team adheres to high-quality standards and maintains consistency in food preparation.

Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee that all dishes meet the established standards in terms of taste, presentation, and portion sizes.

Hiring/Training Staff: Take charge of the recruitment and training process, fostering motivation and providing challenges to enhance the team's skills.

Problem Resolution: Address problems and customer complaints promptly and effectively, maintaining a smooth operation in the kitchen.

Cleanliness and Safety Standards: Uphold strict cleanliness and safety standards to create a hygienic and secure working environment.

Positive Attitude and Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude, exhibit professionalism, and contribute to building team morale.

Overseeing Purchases: Manage and oversee kitchen-related purchases, ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement.

Inventory Management: Supervise and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and maintaining stock levels, to avoid shortages or wastage.

Menu Changes: Play a pivotal role in overseeing menu changes, offering creative input, and ensuring the seamless implementation of new culinary offerings.

Communication and Leadership: Possess strong communication skills and effective leadership qualities to foster a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen equipment, ensuring functionality and longevity.

Collaboration with Other Departments: Coordinate with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Adaptability: Display adaptability in handling changing priorities, seasonal demands, and unexpected challenges in a high-paced culinary environment.
