Contractor specializing in the design, inspection, and installation of commercial fire sprinkler systems looking for an energetic and hardworking individual to join our engineering department. Responsibilities:
Perform field surveys and flow tests in a construction environment. This includes the use of lasers, tape measures, architectural scales, etc. Occasionally will need to carry/use a ladder. Proper use of PPE while at job sites.
Work in Revit and AutoCad to develop commercial fire sprinkler plans per NFPA 13, CBC, etc., for approval and field installation. Certain projects require hydraulic calculations and/or 3D BIM coordination with other trades. Knowledge of Hydratec and Navisworks software is a plus.
Drive to city and fire departments to submit plans, pull permits and meet with plan checkers.
Furnish fabrication lists in a timely manner to meet project timelines and ensure correct material is onsite for installation.
Communicate and coordinate with other trades.
Provide assistance when field installation issues arise.
Review architectural and MEP set of plans for cost impacts.
Perform Job Walks for bid proposals.
Maintain communication with other departments to ensure cohesiveness.
Manage multiple projects, all at different stages, effectively and efficiently.
Provide customer service and help strengthen bonds with clients.
Responsibilities vary with experience and will expand as designer progresses.
Must be organized and detail oriented.

Knowledge of NFPA 13 and experience in AutoCAD/Revit/Hydratec are a plus.
Hours are from 7am to 4pm Monday-Friday but can be flexible. Field surveys will occasionally require earlier start times.

Compensation is based on experience. Employees' performance reviewed annually.
Provide profit sharing(up to 15% of salary).
