Southern California Valve Inc. (SoCalValve), a leading provider of industrial valve solutions, is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Payroll Manager to join our team. This remote position offers a flexible schedule with a competitive hourly wage of $45. The ideal candidate will have payroll experience and a keen eye for detail, ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple departments.
Verify and reconcile employee time records, attendance, and overtime hours.
Process payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other applicable items.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax filings.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and other related matters.
Maintain accurate payroll records and assist in the preparation of reports for audits or compliance purposes.
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on employee data and payroll-related issues.
Support the Payroll Manager in various payroll-related projects as needed.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in payroll processing or accounting roles.
Proficient in payroll software (experience with QuickBooks or similar systems is preferred).
Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with a high level of accountability.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
Previous experience in a similar payroll or accounting position is preferred.
