Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Assistant Traffic Engineer to be based in Orange, CA.Position Responsibilities
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered
Identifies discrepancies in results
Provides guidance to entry level engineers
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience and exposure to Caltrans work and projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
1+ years of Caltrans design experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Caltrans related to traffic engineering and planning; familiarity with associated reference manuals such as Highway Capacity Manual and CA MUTCD.
Familiarity with AUTOCAD or Microstation
Experience in traffic signal design, signing and striping design, and traffic handling plans.
Experience in traffic operational analysis such as HCS and Synchro
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
