Visit dignityhealth.org/northridgehospital for more information.ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Director of the Center for Healthier Communities and with guidance from the Program Manager the Program Coordinator is responsible for supervising implementing and evaluating an assigned grant-funded program and corresponding activities in order to improve community health in a respectful and dignified manner. In accordance with grant specifications responsibilities included encompass program development implementation monitoring/evaluation and other responsibilities.
Help build positive relations within the program team.
Identify new partnership opportunities with internal or external organizations.
Foster a positive relationship with new and current program stakeholders.
Develop and implement effective marketing and outreach strategies to recruit/retain participants and build awareness of program services and activities.
Communicate regularly with program staff and program stakeholders to keep all members up-to-date with relevant program information.
Interact with members of the community to help achieve program goals and objectives.
Comply with policies and procedures governing the program and ensures that the program is operating at maximum efficiency.
Organize and facilitate educational workshops presentations meetings and conferences/events associated with the program. (Weekend or afternoon hours may be required).
Plan and coordinate overall program work and its daily activities.
Create program promotional or educational materials as appropriate for the program (ex. newsletters brochures flyers handouts).
Track and maintain accurate and up-to-date records that pertain to program activities.
Develop data tracking tools as necessary (ex. surveys sign-in sheets spreadsheets).
Maintain program budget and track program expenditures/transactions.
Prepare internal and external progress reports or summaries (ex. monthly quarterly yearly).
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and develop new strategies aimed at quality improvement to ensure the achievement of program goals and objectives.
Monitor program timeline to ensure program goals and objectives are met on schedule within stated budget.
Effectively communicate with management to troubleshoot any program challenges in a timely manner.
Delegate duties/assignments of other program staff.
Support training of new employees/interns/volunteers to ensure proper operation of the program as needed.
Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events and maintain agenda. May assist with grant and/or proposal writing.
May assist and participate in supporting fundraising/community activities (ex. annual walk/run event).
Performs miscellaneous job-related and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience implementing community-based programs developing outreach strategies collaborating with community-based organizations and report writing.
Basic knowledge of budgeting or accounting.
Knowledge of local community agencies and resources.
Ability to organize projects and establish priorities.
Creative and analytical skills.
Ability to travel locally for outreach events (some evenings and weekends).
Grant writing experience preferred.
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Education
BS/BA degree required or 5 years’ experience in community based programs or social services.
Health Administration Public Health or Public Policy degree preferred. Master's degree preferred.
Licensure
Must maintain current Fire Safety card; card required within 90 days of hire.
Special Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace products Zoom and Canva.
Presentation and public speaking skills.
