LS&S is seeking an energetic and creative Library Associate 3 for the Moorpark City Library focusing on marketing & digital communications. The Library Associate 3 is responsible for the oversight of the library's marketing and public communication strategies that serve the organization's mission and programs. A portion of the Library Associate 3 job is at the circulation desk, providing excellent customer service and problem solving patron accounts.Responsibilities:An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Provides customer service to patrons in all areas of the library.

Work closely with Librarians to plan, implement and promote programming activities.

Inform library patrons of rules of conduct as necessary, and enforce those rules when appropriate.

Develop and oversee online communications and social networks.

Develop and maintain the library's social media strategy.

Develop, deliver, evaluate and improve digital services.

Manage the website to promote the library and develop awareness of library services and programs; ensure content is accurate and updated, oversee development of visuals, and work with staff to make sure patrons have a smooth web experience.

Develop and oversee development of print and electronic materials, including brochures, newsletters, flyers, email campaigns, signs, etc.

Working with library staff, ensure promotional materials from performers or presenters are solicited as appropriate, and that all publicity requirements (from the performers or presenters) are met.

Know and understand the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library. In addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library(ies).

Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records.

Other duties as assigned.

RequirementsAn individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.

H.S. Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Three years library experience preferred

One year supervisory experience preferred

Proficiency with library systems and databases

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Multilingual speaking is a plus

A high degree of proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is desired

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to work a regular schedule that may include a combination of days, evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to frequently move from place to place within the location; file and retrieve books and other items on high shelves; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds of heavy boxes, books, and equipment; work in confined spaces; walk; bend; stoop; reach; and climb.

Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork
