The County of Sonoma Probation Department seeks qualified individuals interested in working with and supervising work crews. Starting salary up to $35.42/Hour.
The Supervised Adult Crew (SAC) Program is a detention alternative program whereby adult offenders complete jail terms by working on crews throughout the community; as well, the SAC program facilitates weekend crews for juvenile probation youth. By working on projects throughout the community and completing government and non-profit projects, they build a sense of community, learn work skills, and enhance their community.
As a Probation Work Crew Supervisor, you will responsible for carrying out assigned maintenance, landscape, construction, and industrial production projects; time frame estimates; and acting as Probation Department representatives. Assigned projects vary based on project specifications and/or building codes, individual expertise, crew composition, and if the use of skilled workers and project managers is required.
Ideal candidates will possess a combination of the following:
Supervisory experience managing a diverse group of people
Experience ensuring OSHA compliance
Coursework and/or experience in project management
Corrections experience, working directly with offenders
Experience towing trailers, operating small equipment, and using power and hand tools
Journey-level experience in one or more skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, general engineering, or landscaping
Ability to work on Saturdays and Sundays
