About the Role:
MDSS is looking for Welder Installers to join our team based in Downey, CA.
The Welder Installer will perform welding and installing tasks, of different types and grades of welding and materials. He will participate in the installation of new systems and upgrades of existing systems.
The Welder Installer will also perform mechanical tasks, such as assembly and disassembly of machines and components, fabrication and installation of hangers and supports.
This role will require the candidate to build skills and experience within our specialty piping business.
Primary Tasks will be Purge TIG welding of stainless tubing, orbital welding, and TIG welding of hangers and supports.
Welder Installer will work under the direction of Field Leads, Superintendents and Project Managers. You will be a member of our field crews, and receive direction, support and training from our field leads and superintendents.
Expectation is to meet and maintain our quality standards and fulfill required documentation of work.
The ability to: “follow directions”, “complete work correctly” and “maintain quality standards” are what we are looking for.
Field work and travel will be primarily based in Southern California and occasionally throughout California.
Wage:
Base Range: $30 to $40 hourly.

What we expect:

Follow directions well.
Attain welding proficiency and complete certifications.
Provide knowledge and skill in pipe fitting and slope.
Read isometric drawings and create isometric sketches.
Read Process and Instrumentation drawings (P&ID’s)
Adhere to Safety guidelines, understand good practice and PPE requirements.
Work a combination of days and weekends as needed to complete assigned work. Overtime when required to meet project deadlines.
Take ownership of your projects, take pride in your work.
You have: (preferred)
Experience in high purity, TIG, orbital, all purged welding.
Process piping layout, fitting and detailing skills.
Experience in performing process piping jobs and projects.
Field experience as part of a work crews.
Ability to read plans, drawings and P&ID’s. Isometric skills.
