This is a limited term project for processing and cataloging 19th and 20th century rare books.

Requirements:
attention to detail: matching editions, accurate data entry, correct spelling and no typos
basic familiarity with Excel spreadsheets
laptop with Microsoft Office suite
experience handling books or similar archival material
this job is not suitable for candidates with asthma or mold sensitivity
Job description:
Use an Excel spreadsheet to document books from the 19th and 20th century which will be receiving conservation treatment.
Document bibliographic and physical information about books. Cross reference with WorldCat.
Photograph items as processed. Camera will be provided.
Note that no treatments of items will be involved: this is a documentation and spreadsheet project.
Terms:
$22-25 per hour plus daily parking allowance
10-15 hours per week, minimum 5 hour shift
Work hours to be regularly set between 930am and 5pm Monday to Friday
Anticipated completion time, 4 weeks
This is an independent contractor position, and taxes will not be withheld. Payment is by weekly check
Please note:
(1) Dust will be present. Nitrile gloves and a mask can be worn and will be provided
(2) Attention to detail is very important; no earbuds while working
(3) Lifting boxes of books weighing 20-30 pounds is required
(4) There’s a studio dog
(5) Work hours to be between 930am and 5pm Monday to Friday
(6) Applicants must be legally able to work in the US
