Job descriptionJob SummaryThe Development Coordinator is responsible for working in tandem with the Director of the Development Support Unit in the fulfillment of the vision defined by the strategic plan and service deliverables documents. This includes building the infrastructure of the unit and planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Life Steps Foundation fundraising and marketing process.Essential Job DeliverablesDonor CultivationDevelop and implement resources for donor cultivation to educate and help streamline the processes of soliciting, receiving, recording, acknowledging, recognitions, tracking deadlines, report issuance and record keepingCoordinate and promote the implementation of an annual campaign for Affiliates and BUs.Work on LSF website and social media contentWork on newsletter.Produce thank you lettersHandle the cards and year end thank you gifts to Board membersMaintain and update donors files and mailing lists using approved software.Grant ProjectsResearch grant organizations and support the processes of identifying prospects as needed, tracking, proposal/LOI development, follow up, stewarding, and record keepingWork with program site managers applying for grants and contracts to provide the required attachment documents as requested to meet application deadlinesWork on grant reportsMarketing, PR, Branding and Desktop PublishingCoordinate updates and dissemination of standard marketing packages and materials to share LSF Group and Affiliate’s mission and vision to community stakeholdersPrepare marketing and social media reports and identify individual support prospects using approved softwareCollect and develop resources on Marketing, PR, Branding and Desktop Publishing to educate oneself and partners on the processes of creating, branding and disseminating internal and external messagesEnsure that all materials and publications abide by the brand standards and policies of LSF Group both internally and externallyWork with the Development Director to produce community relations materials such as the quarterly newsletter and the annual reportRepresent LSF at community events to grow the organization’s visibility including at volunteers events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, students fairs, etc.Constant Contact E-Blast template development and contentTrainingDisseminate training materials/resources to program sitesMaintain all documents and materials in electronic format in a database that is available to partnersProvide or coordinate virtual trainings as neededGeneral DutiesEnsure electronic copies of the following materials are available for program sites: updated marketing packages, brochures and flyers templatesConsider Development operations and identify infrastructures upgrades such as new software or services that may be beneficial, and discuss options with the Development DirectorIdentify short and long range-issues to address during supervisionImplement directives of the CEO and board of directorsDevelop an in-depth knowledge of LSF, its affiliates and programs.Learn the history, philosophy, programs, services and current activities of LSF to be able to accurately and professionally articulate the organization’s work to donors and members of the publicAssist with the implementation of agency strategic objectives related to resource and developmentParticipate in fund development strategy meetings with Development team and service operations, as neededRepresent LSF group when requested, at meetings and in the community as neededEvaluate Development procedures on feedback from other departments and program locationsProvide Development reports to Development Director, CEO and Board of Directors when requestedUnderstand the annual Development’s budgetCoordinate and assist with Board of Directors and committee meetingsMaintain and distribute Board related documents in electronic formatJob RequirementsExcellent interpersonal skills; Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a multicultural environment.Must be completely vaccinated against COVID-19.Familiarity with using an iPad and video conferencing software such as ZoomExcellent writing composition and correspondence skillsAbility to work on basic graphic designsHighly motivated, with the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and follow through multiple tasks to completion in a collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation are necessary for successStrong familiarity with the mail merge process and mass email distributionExcellent critical thinking, organizational, analytical skills and project management.Ability to communicate with team leaders and other associates to answer questions and resolve issuesGood at working with vendors and negotiating optimal service costsStrong working knowledge of fundraising software and databases (especially Donor Perfect), and social networking sites such as Facebook.Internet competency and knowledge of software publication programs including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and design software.
