YOUR ROLE:
Helping to position Sorbent Systems and IMPAK Corporation as a leader in quality, the Production Leader will focus on supervising a designated area within production and making products at a fast pace within tight quality guidelines. This role will train, monitor the performance, and achieve production goals by guiding team members in various production tasks involving the assembly of a variety of custom vacuum and heat sealer products. Accountability for maintaining high quality, accuracy, as well as meeting the metric goals set by management is critical Constant communication with the purchasing team will be required to ensure availability of parts.
This position is a day shift starting at 8:00 am Monday through Friday, with periodic overtime. This position reports directly to the Director of Machinery Group.
The ideal candidate is a fast-paced, organized, hard-working and detail- focused employee. This is a hands-on, lead-by-example role with growth potential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead the machinery assembly team in the assigned area and ensure production goals are met
Schedule production and assigns tasks to team
Train and cross-train Regular and Flex Staff employees in area
Ensure Regular and Flex Staff team members are working efficiently and meeting production standards
Track scrap reasons and quantities, look for ways to reduce waste
Make sure department is meeting the quality standards for the product
Review first articles, qualify and manage suppliers as necessary.
Responsible for making and leading continuous improvement efforts in area
Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs of equipment in the assigned area.
Do preventative maintenance and keep maintenance logs on equipment
Responsible for housekeeping and organization in area assigned
Make sure employees are following all safety rules and procedures
And all other duties as required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
2+ years of experience as a lead or supervisor of a production team in light manufacturing or a warehouse environment.
Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Able to work with management to increase productivity while managing multiple priorities and address ambiguity.
Basic computer skills required: Microsoft Office experience a plus.
Proven written and verbal communication skills emphasizing organization and attention to detail.
Experience managing and training individuals or teams including troubleshooting.
Proficient with multi-tasking and balancing multiple projects simultaneously with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed assembly work including standing in a assembly/warehouse environment for long periods of time (8+ hours)
SALARY: $52.5k – $58.6K DOE
