Summary:
The position entails assisting in research and development in the emerging technology field of large-scale 3D printing for applications such as construction. Responsibilities include prototyping, fabricating and testing mechanical systems as well as performing laboratory testing of cementitious materials.
Essential Job Functions:
Build prototypes and work effectively within new product development processes
Plan conduct and document laboratory experiments for evaluation of new or improved materials, products and processes.
Understand and conform to relevant safety standards
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge and practice of machining methods (mainly milling and lathe machines. CNC experience is preferable but not required.)
Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings.
Experience in fabrication and prototyping.
Have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to manage changing priorities and ambiguity, while remaining calm, controlled and professional.
Integrity, motivation and teamwork spirit in a startup environment.
Ability to follow instructions.
Effective, oral and written communication skills.
