Job Title: Machinist
Location: Santa Fe Springs
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM – Monday – Friday
Pay: DOE ($15.00 to $30.00 an hour)
The Mold Shop is a family owned, growing business that has continued to grow, since opening in 2019.
We are looking to fill in the following position with an experienced candidate.
Reports To: Production Lead
Descriptive Summary
The primary role of a Machinist is to operate all conventional machinery to manufacture parts required. Chosen candidates will need to properly and safely set up parts to machine them according to the blueprints/tolerances. Candidate will be required to operate various machinery, including mills, lathes, drill presses, surface grinder, Blanchard grinders, etc.
The Applicant should have:
All conventional machinery knowledge.
Machinist Background.
Ability to perform and setup various machines.
Ability to use manual tools.
Ability to understand and maintain all dimensional tolerances.
The Applicant will:
Machine all parts according to instruction/blueprint.
Use hand grinding tools.
Maintenance of conventional machinery.
Skills and Requirements
Skills:
Aptitude for occasionally applying shop math and geometry, required.
Problem solving, required.
Aptitude for reading blueprints, required.
Aptitude for machine shop theory, required.
Aptitude for utilization of a variety of common hand tools, required.
Ability to work as part of a team, required.
Organizational and follow-through skills, required.
Physical:
Lift up to 70 pounds independently, required.
Constant visual inspection and auditory inspection capability, required.
Frequent daily bending, squatting, twisting, manual dexterity (to handle and manipulate small parts), required.
Ability to access, input and process data using a computer occasionally, required.
Education:
High school diploma or the equivalent, required.
Work Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of general machining
Minimum of three (3) years of Precision part handling, preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in manual conventional machine operation required.
