We are a spiritual non-profit organization seeking a Landscape Foreman. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST. The position is located in Los Angeles CA.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise landscape projects, planning the landscape design, scheduling work, and supervise work crews.
Ensure that landscaping projects are completed on time and meet supervisor expectations.
Train and oversee landscape workers and ensure that they are following company policies and procedures
Perform hands-on tasks such as planting, mowing, pruning, and trimming, to name a few.
Other position-related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 to 5 years working in an advanced level gardening/landscaping role. Knowledge of plants, trees, and shrubs.
Minimum 2 years working in a foreman or supervisor position overseeing other gardeners.
Able to work in a variety of weather conditions
Excellent problem solving, communication and leadership skills. In charge of overseeing the work of Garden Department employees and volunteers.
In depth knowledge of proper tree pruning techniques.
Makes minor decisions regarding garden design and appearance when necessary to increase efficiency.
Good physical condition has the ability to stoop, bend, dig, rake, climb hills, walk long distances for extended periods of time, and lift moderate (occasionally heavy) loads, up to 75 lbs.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record drive class c tractors safely.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent SRF adequately when dealing with the public.
The ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required.
