Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Food Production Quality Control Technician to join our team. The QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet our quality standards by performing inspections and testing at various stages of the production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety, quality control procedures, and the ability to identify and address any production issues to maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular quality checks on food products throughout the production and packaging processes to ensure they meet company specifications and safety standards.
Inspect raw materials and finished products for compliance with quality standards, including size, color, texture, and flavor.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality and safety guidelines.
Conduct inspections on food storage and production areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
Record and document quality control data and results, maintaining accurate logs of inspections and testing outcomes.
Identify any quality control issues or deviations and work with the production team to implement corrective actions.
Assist with conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA regulations).
Ensure that all products are correctly labeled, packaged, and stored according to company and regulatory standards.
Conduct sensory evaluations (taste, smell, appearance) and perform microbiological, physical, and chemical testing as needed.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, warehouse, sanitation) to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Provide feedback and training to production teams on quality standards and safe production practices.
Stay updated on industry trends, quality control techniques, and food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a quality control or food production role is required.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control processes (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
Ability to perform detailed inspections and testing, with a keen eye for identifying issues.
Knowledge of food production processes and the ability to work with production teams to resolve issues.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and food safety testing methods is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting purposes.
Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in cold, refrigerated environments for prolonged periods.
Ability to conduct physical inspections and tests of food products and production processes.
