TopNotch Catering is a growing company that caters lunch, breakfast, snack, and supper to child nutrition programs across Los Angeles County. TopNotch provides fresh-made meals for K-12 schools, head start programs, and community organizations. We partner with local growers to provide fresh produce and create innovative and accessible meals for children. We are a fast-paced company with opportunities for growth and hands-on experience. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill the role of our Kitchen Manager for the LA facility.

Type Job Description

● Full time, salaried position.

● Reports directly to the Operations Manager

● day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of Top N Catering, LLC.

● Recipe development needed on a biweekly basis. Ability to work with the Operations Manager, Director of Operations and consulting dietitians to adhere recipes to the NSLP requirements.

● Create working relationships with all vendors, manufacturers, etc. to be within a cost per meal percentage needed for each new recipe developed. Ideal food cost percentages between 30%-35%.

● Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and overall business goals.

● Responsible for improving all food safety practices in accordance with DEH regulations plus creating a HACCP plan for all forms of operations.

● Create Top N Catering, LLC standards in terms of inventory, product development, training, meal costing, and all needed day to day activities. Must be able to work with all forms of management to provide training that is detailed toward specific job title tasks.

● Creativity needed to be able to create an operational workflow with the current or additional equipment needed for the kitchen. Ability to research and budget for all additional equipment required as the the company continues to grow.
