VALERIE CONFECTIONS founded in Los Angeles in 2004, is a family-owned bakery & chocolate company currently based in Glendale, which also owns & operates VALERIE ECHO PARK, serving coffee, espresso, pastries, breakfast and lunch, along with our desserts and chocolates, and a curated retail selection. Our products are also available at select retail partners, both locally and nationally.
We are currently seeking a GENERAL MANAGER to oversee operations at both our Echo Park Cafe as well as our Glendale facility, which encompasses our office, main production facility, packaging and shipping operations, and our Bakery & Chocolate Shop.
The General Manager will oversee all non-shipping related operations, and will be responsible for HR (scheduling, staff communications, hiring, discipline, terminations, etc.), Ordering and Inventory (including food ingredients, paper goods, packaging supplies, etc, with special focus on keeping costs within specified margins), Monitoring and Enforcing HACCP protocols, including Facility & Equipment Maintenance, among other duties.
2-4 Years Restaurant or Bakery Management and HACCP Certification required.
Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, food, especially chocolates & desserts, and a strong commitment to Hospitality. Must have training/experience in HR, and should be comfortable with Quickbooks, Shopify, Square, or similar programs. Experience with Espresso Service, and competency in Illustrator/Photoshop, a plus. All applicants should be friendly, reliable, and hard-working, with good attention to detail. Must work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Weekends will be required, but the position does not include evening work, so a great opportunity for candidates looking for a more standard, daytime schedule. Weekly Schedule will be +/- 50 hours, with some flexibility in scheduling.
