We are a small, independent NY style pizza shop looking to expand menu and operating hours. For the kitchen manager position we are seeking someone who:
- Is capable of doing everything in the kitchen: making dough, prepping all items, hand-stretching and topping pizza, expediting, working the oven, taking orders, answering the phone, managing togo orders, cleaning, doing dishes, etc. You will not be required to do all of these every day, but as the leader, you need to be able to fill in on any station.
- Has a consistently positive attitude. You will be setting the tone for the rest of the staff and you will be someone that guests interact with a lot, so it is important that you are able to stay calm, positive, and friendly. Not looking for someone with mood swings or that brings baggage from their personal life into work. Problems are going to arise. Are you someone who can remain calm and focus on fining solutions?
- Is bilingual. Mostly hispanic staff, some that don't speak much English. You will also need to be able to answer the phone and take orders in a busy setting.
- Has a strong attention to detail. It's a fine line between perfectly seasoned and too salty, beautifully charred and burnt. Do you have an eye for detail and do you have the discipline to make sure we are serving pizza that meets our standards?
- Has a strong work ethic. Working in a pizza shop can be hard. Long hours, hot environment, some heavy lifting. Do you like staying busy and take pride in your work?
