Job description
Summary :
The assistant chef helps coordinate lunch and dinner service in our small culinary operation. Must utilize proper food service standards and techniques. Must have current serve safe certification. Must represent the restaurant with the utmost integrity and professionalism at all times. Appearance must be well maintained and dress must be proper for kitchen environment. Complies with company polices and procedures as established in the employee handbook. Must demonstrate proper knife skills and techniques. Must be able to follow Executive chefs' direction at all times.Must have minimum 2 years kitchen experience. Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours and be able to lift minimum 50 lbs.
Daily Duties
Assists chef with daily food prep and plating. Ensures that quality of production is met at all times.
Helps maintain a clean and safe working environment
Helps create and offers input on new recipes and development as well as assists chef in tasting dishes.
Assists chef with all aspects of the food service at the club as needed. Notifies chef of any food shortages well in advance.
Ensures that the work area is kept clean and organized at all times.
Properly stores food neatly and dates all leftovers clearly.
Weekly Duties
Organize walk-in refrigerator and keep items properly labeled
In absence of dishwasher, assists with cleaning and sanitizing dirty pots and pans. Returns all clean kitchen equipment to proper area.
