Seeking bilingual (English/Spanish), friendly active front of house team member for our small growing fast-casual pasta restaurant in Los Angeles that borders Inglewood and Westchester. Position is full-time (30-40 hours a week). We are closed on Sundays.
Position involves greeting customers, taking orders and transactions (cash, card, gift card), Preparing and serving simple front of house menu items (garlic bread, salad), bagging items for takeout orders, bringing food to dine-in customers, maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant and most importantly being a positive, reliable, dependable team-player with the ability to clearly communicate with customers and the rest of the team.
The ideal person for this position has a level of maturity that understands the importance of being respectful to others, always acting in a professional manner that represents the restaurant, owners and staff, is able to maintain composure during peak hours and/or stressful times, is on time, reliable, dependable, likes to take initiative, think ahead during slower restaurant times to make sure we are prepared for peak times, and is open to feedback and coaching from the owners and team in order to maintain your position and grow. Base pay is $17-$19 plus an additional $2-$3 per hour in tips is the norm. Payroll is done weekly.
Review of Duties and Responsibilities
Read tickets, either in electronic or paper form that are processed through the POS system.
Prepare salads and bread ordered through the POS system according to recipe.
Maintain safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Rotate products according to FIFO (first in, first out) principle.
Cover, label, date, and store prepared products.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene in compliance with local health ordinances.
Clean work area, stores utensils, disassembles and cleans equipment.
Physical Requirements
Employees will be required to engage in the physical action and be on their feet for up to an eight-hour shift.
It is important for restaurant employees to be able to:

Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
It is not as important, but still necessary, for restaurant employees to be able to:
Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
