Head of Accounting

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting in Los Angeles, California, 90021, United States. The individual will be responsible for leading our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving improvements in our business and accounting systems. This role is particularly suited to those with eCommerce experience and a strong background in Big 4 or large regional public accounting firms.Responsibilities Lead the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with FASB GAAP codification and SOX control frameworks Supervise, improve, and implement public company-caliber business and accounting systems and processes Manage a team of accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement Leverage your CPA designation to ensure the highest level of accounting practice and standards Use your experience from Big 4 Accounting Firm to guide the accounting team and provide expert advice Apply your knowledge of US GAAP to ensure accurate financial reporting Utilize your eCommerce experience to drive improvements in our consumer subscription business model Manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting Collaborate with other departments to achieve company-wide financial objectives Continuously monitor the latest industry trends and standards, implementing necessary changes in our accounting practices. Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA designation is required Proven experience in a leadership role within an accounting department, preferably as a Director Strong knowledge of US GAAP, FASB regulations, and SOX compliance Prior experience working in a Big 4 Accounting Firm is highly desirable Excellent understanding of accounting procedures and financial analysis Proficiency in eCommerce accounting is a plus Exceptional leadership abilities and team management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to strategise and solve problems Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Ability to handle high-stress situations and multiple projects simultaneously Strong understanding of tax codes and laws Proficiency in accounting software Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Analytical mindset, comfortable working with large amounts of data and reporting on financial results.
