As a Export Agent, you will ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported products while processing separate entries to Custom Border Patrol (US CUSTOMS). You will also compute tariffs (taxes), and price conversions of merchandise imported from foreign destinations. In addition, you will also be asked to examine various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to obtain release of incoming freight and resolve delays.Pay-$23.08-30.77Key Accountabilities:
Participates in planning and directing the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations
Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations
Processes all requests for extensions, expiration, cancellation and all government entries
Communicates with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status and special handling and delivery processes.
Maintains open line of communication with department of foreign affairs
May receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Knowledgeable in U.S. Customs and International trade with a basic understanding of customs valuation, classification, compliance/audit and trade programs.
In-depth knowledge of all U.S. Customs Compliance Rules and Regulations
Knowledge of NAFTA, Free Trade Agreements, CTPAT, additional tariff requirements, OGA'S, ACH and all other related trade legislation, rules and regulations.
Ability to make customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining productive relationships.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
1 year experience in transportation or customs preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database and web-based applications
Good oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; courteous and clear telephone voice
Proficiency on a 10 key calculator
