The work will be challenging, but always rewarding.It’s Work That Matters.OverviewPurpose Statement/Position Summary: The Developmental Neuroscience and Neurogenetics Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is seeking to fill a Research Associate staff position. This role will join a neurodevelopmental basic science research project led by Dr. Manal Tabbaa. The project investigates the impact of genes and the environment on individual differences in the development of behavior, brain circuits, and gene expression.Technical skills highly preferred: Mouse brain regional dissections PCR-based genotyping Mouse handling Behavioral testing Histology MicroscopyThe Associate Research Specialist, under supervision, will conduct routine laboratory research procedures, follow protocols to perform experiments, tabulate data, and may assist with analysis. Additionally, will participate in all levels of the research investigation, including data collection, data processing, and data analysis. A minimum 2-year commitment is preferred.Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Experience working in a laboratory environment required.
Preferred: 1+ years of experience performing laboratory research.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with database queries, data management, and basic statistical analyses.
Experience in experimental biology with some knowledge of neuroscience, experimental design, and analysis of biochemical data is highly preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific field.Pay Scale Information$37,232.00-$61,953.00CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
