It is a well-established small firm working with reputable structural consultants and architects for seismic upgrading and modernization of existing Commercial, Industrial, Hospital, School, and Historical buildings. The company specializes in providing on-site structural testing, investigations, inspections, NDT, and laboratory materials testing.
Applicant MUST HAVE at least 4 years of relevant engineering work experience. Candidates with a California Professional Engineer (PE) License in Civil/Structural Engineering, MS and/or Ph.D. degree are preferred. Local candidates are desirable.
$35 and UP per hour based upon qualifications and experience

Responsibilities include:
Communications with practicing structural engineers regarding given protocols for structural investigations and materials testing related to existing buildings
Manage testing projects from start to finish and report progress to the Principals
Preparation of formal structural and materials testing proposals and reports
Supervise and assist staff engineers in the office and in the laboratory
Guide testing technicians in the laboratory and in the field
Site visits for meetings with clients and structural engineers
Site visits to check buildings and prepare inspection reports
Frequent communications with existing and potential clients
Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient with CAD, Microsoft Word/Excel, and understand standard structural and materials testing procedures.
