The Journey Begins is seeking dynamic leaders to join our team. We grew in size and have an opening for a Full-time Teacher (8 hours per day) in our Toddler (18-24 month olds) classroom and a part time 4 hour a day position.
The Journey Begins is an Infant/Toddler Program in Highland Park. We are looking for a warm, caring, nurturing, creative teacher(s) and caregivers with a strong desire to work as a team; must possess leadership and organizational skills to work in any/all 3 Infant/Toddler classrooms. Each position will provide a successful, safe, and supervised play-based setting for children while they are in The Journey Begins program (classroom, outdoor play area, and nap times). To promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Infant and Toddler aged children. Encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program. Works with the Lead and Assistant Teachers in assigned classroom and works as a team with all employees at the center. Our Floater position would require the person to work in any/all classrooms with all age groups Infant-Two years old.
We prefer at least one year experience in an infant/toddler/preschool setting and a minimum of 15 units in Early Childhood Education. The Floater teacher is a part time position of 20-35 hours or more per week.

Preferred Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts/Science preferred in early childhood education or child development.
15 units of Early Childhood Education.
1 year of experience working in an early education setting with infants and toddlers.
CPR & First Aide Certificate (may be obtained after applying but before starting).
Physical Exam and TB Screening within last 12 Months or may obtain before starting.
Live Scan Clearance from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Proof of required vaccinations, including Covid-19.
Must have reliable car or the ability to use public or private transportation.
Computer literate.
