Operations Manager
Our great operations manager is moving to Texas! We need another great one or one that can become great with a few weeks training. Located near the LAX airport, Southland Aquatics is a national wholesaler of live tropical fish. We import fish from around the World and sell fish to pet stores around the USA. The operations manager acts as the purchasing manager for warehouse supplies, handles logistics for outgoing fish to our customers with Fedex and airlines, manages the daily and weekly packaging and maintenance scheduling. In addition he or she works with our warehouse manager and sales manager and general manager to keep the place moving forward. The operations manager works with our accountant and handles billing and collections and fills in for the general manager when necessary, and our customer service manager to keep a watch on our social media programs and online sales. This is a very encompassing job that will require some training. And this job requires a FIT person who can occasionally lift 25 lb boxes, help us put new shipments away, and work with our exporters on new arrivals when the general manager is traveling. No matter how sophisticated some of the work may be, you will not be able to avoid getting your hands wet from time to time. We also require at least an Associates Degree.
