We are a staffing agency who is looking for a Bookkeeper ONSITE for our client in Van Nuys/Panorama City. Our client is a small construction company who is looking for someone who knows QuickBooks Desktop. This is a temporary position to replace the employee on medical leave approximately 2-6 months, indefinite but not permanent position. Must be available for the entire tentative duration.

We are looking for someone who can manage expense reporting, has strong bookkeeping skills. Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop is required. The potential Bookkeeper should be a self-starter who can complete the task at hand with minimal oversight. Experience in a construction or building maintenance background is a PLUS - familiarity with lien releases and how they work is a plus. Works in a clerical trailer on the yard.

Below are the responsibilities we are looking for in our candidate:

As a Bookkeeper, you will be the key contact responsible with reporting expenses and tracking billing/payments for the company. The Bookkeeper will use QuickBooks desktop to record all expenses, assist in lien releases, enter invoices, and prepare billing/post payments using QB desktop. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or construction accounting clerk who is comfortable stepping in to make this a seamless transition while their employee is on leave.

Job Description:

Record all expenses from bank account into QuickBooks desktop.

Be familiar with construction lien releases and how they work is a plus, not required.

Organize and manage project documents to ensure accessibility.

Enter approved invoices into QuickBooks and categorize by project.

Assist in preparing books for tax submission to CPA.

Prepare billings monthly to clients from QB and follow up with payment.

Post payments and record payments made in QB Desktop

Requirements:

Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop and MS Excel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Prior experience in the construction or building maintenance industry is preferred.

Bilingual helps but not required.

Expected hours: 40 per week, on site

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: $26/hour DOE
