Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team. This role provides an opportunity for longevity, with a focus on general ledger management, auditing, and account reconciliation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, creating financial reports, and implementing accounting systems and procedures.Responsibilities: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts Document business transactions and maintain accurate customer credit records Conduct project management, construction, and job cost accounting Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions Install, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns Utilize MS Excel and other relevant software for accounting tasks Manage customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status.Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role Proficiency in MS Excel Familiarity with general ledger functions Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes Experience in financial auditing is a plus Understanding of account management principles Knowledge of job costing methodologies Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Excellent numeracy skills with an ability to spot errors Strong ethics, with a customer-oriented attitude Outstanding problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
