Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are providing a unique opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Irvine, California. This role is based in the nonprofit sector and offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of accounts receivable, managing outstanding invoices, and streamlining our accounts receivable process. This position will work closely with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.Responsibilities: Collect outstanding invoices by contacting clients/members via telephone, email, and mail. Gather, process, record, and verify invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures. Perform cash management tasks daily, including making bank deposits and posting cash deposits to the ledger. Enhance the accounts receivable process to improve efficiency and accuracy. Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied correctly, and uncollectible amounts are accounted for. Prepare analytical and ratio analyses related to accounts receivable to assist management in understanding collection efforts. Support other accounting and finance team members as needed, including assisting with inventory management and cost accounting. Utilize various accounting software systems, including Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites to perform accounting functions, manage accounts receivable, perform billing functions, and process checks.
