The Senior Label Operator will be responsible for overseeing the labeling process, ensuring smooth coordination with the production team, and ensuring compliance with product labeling standards. In addition, this role will require managing label-related communications with various departments and external vendors. This is NOT a remote job. Must work on site. Must be able to work in warehouse environments, and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities:

Lead the label team in daily labeling operations to ensure labels are applied efficiently, accurately, and according to schedule.

Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to improve performance and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Conduct quality checks on both products and labels to ensure they meet company and industry standards.

Ensure that labels are applied correctly, with no defects or misalignment, and that all information is legible and compliant.

Perform visual inspections on labels for accuracy in content, color, design, and placement.

Collaborate closely with the Production Team to ensure that labeled products meet production timelines and standards.

Work with the Graphic Design Team to review, approve, and request labels for production, ensuring that all design requirements are met.

Manage the procurement of labels by placing orders with label printing companies and ensuring that label quantities and designs meet production requirements.

Approve final label proofs before printing, ensuring that they match the required specifications.

Oversee the proper operation of labeling machines, ensuring that they are set up and adjusted correctly to handle different types of products and packaging.

Monitor and troubleshoot any issues with the label machines, making adjustments or repairs as needed to avoid downtime.

Contact label machine manufacturers and maintenance providers if any significant technical issues arise, and coordinate repairs or adjustments to the equipment.

Serve as the primary point of contact for label printing companies and label machine manufacturers, addressing any concerns or issues related to label quality or machine performance.

Utilize Excel to track label usage, production timelines, and inventory levels.

Ensure that records of label orders, production numbers, and any label changes are accurately logged in spreadsheets.

Identify areas for improvement in the labeling process and propose solutions to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and overall quality.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in a labeling, production, or manufacturing environment, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Proficiency in Excel is required; must be able to create, update, and manage data spreadsheets.

Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough quality control checks.

Familiarity with labeling machines and equipment, including the ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs.

Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple labeling projects and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various teams and external vendors.

Problem-solving skills to handle machinery issues, label errors, and production delays.

Ability to handle both administrative tasks (ordering, approvals, data entry) and hands-on tasks (machine adjustments, quality checks).
