Established in 1925, the Claremont Colleges Services is the shared services organization for a highly regarded consortium of seven independent colleges known as The Claremont Colleges located in Southern California. Today, TCCS is a nationally recognized educational model for academic support, student support and institutional support services to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff.

The Claremont Colleges includes five undergraduate liberal arts colleges and two graduate institutions: Pomona College, Claremont Graduate Institution, Scripps College, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer College and Keck Graduate Institute. Located on contiguous campuses in the Southern California city of Claremont, each institution has its own student body, faculty, governance, curricular emphasis, culture, and mission. Intercollegiate cooperation provides university-scale services and facilities. Student Health Services provides patient-centered health care to our campus community in a professional and compassionate manner that directly contributes to the student’s well-being and overall success. Student Health Services at The Claremont Colleges is a service of The Claremont Colleges Services and is provided to all undergraduate students enrolled at The Claremont Colleges.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $260,000- $325,000

About the Role

Join The Claremont Colleges Services Student Health Services, where we are dedicated to prioritizing student well-being and delivering exemplary outpatient primary medical care. In the critical position of Director of Student Health Services, you will oversee and collaborate with the Assistant Director to ensure that providers deliver high-quality, effective, inclusive, and cost-effective clinical care in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, you will supervise and collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Supervisor (Registered Nurse) to establish clinical priorities and expedite project completion. Your responsibilities will encompass the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation of treatments for acute and chronic medical conditions, including the performance of minor surgical procedures when necessary.

Offering a comprehensive range of sexual and reproductive health services, such as gender affirming hormone therapy, genital affirming hormone therapy, genital examinations for acute, chronic, and preventive care needs (e.g. cervical and breast cancer screening, contraceptive methods, pregnancy testing, and STI evaluation and management), you will play a key role in enhancing the overall health experience for our students. Additionally, your leadership will inspire our clinical staff to provide exceptional care, while your educational initiatives will empower students with knowledge about illnesses and preventive health care.

The experience you will bring:

A medical degree from an accredited medical school.

Minimum 3 years post residency in a primary care specialty (i.e. Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine)

California Medical License - Candidates residing outside of California will be provided with the necessary timeframe to obtain their California Medical License

Proven knowledge in medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Demonstrated ability to manage the fluctuation of clinical caseload and maintain appropriate records in a timely manner.

Ability to work as a team member within the health center and throughout the consortium.

Ability to work with an electronic health records system for client notes and scheduling.

Fluent language skills in English, including the ability to write with proper grammar, spelling, and business etiquette.

Board certified in a primary care specialty.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or the ability to obtain such certification within a reasonable time after starting in the position.

Continuing medical education classes as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a higher education environment and/or with college-aged individuals.

Experience working with an electronic medical records system.
