Bakery Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of baked goods, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

● Assist in the preparation and production of baked goods, including measuring and mixing ingredients, shaping dough, portion dough and decorating finished products

● Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and fulfilling orders

● Pack baked goods for orders

● Insure sales floor, service counter, and bakery is clean

● Inform manager when baked goods need to be ordered

● Stock shelves with kitchen items and condiments open bakery supplies & packaging

● Inform manager when ingredients or equipment need replacement

● Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and sweeping and mopping floors

● Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and handling food in a safe and hygienic manner

Qualifications:

● Must be at least 18 years of age.

● High school education or equivalent

● Previous experience in baking or pastry is preferred

● Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

● Excellent communication and customer service skills

● A Food Handler's Certificate/Card must be obtained within a specified time frame.

Requirements & Skills:

● Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.

● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

● Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities simultaneously.

● Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
