The Bagdad Cafe in Newberry Springs is looking for a friendly, dependable assistant to the Owner and Manager to help greet the many foreign visitors, mainly from France, ( a plus if you know French) to talk with them and help with sales of our souvenirs, shirts and hats.
Looking for someone who enjoys meeting new people and taking a picture with the visitors phone of their visit here.
The Bagdad Cafe is open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm, during the week there can be several bus loads of foreign visitors, so it can go from no visitors to 30 people or more in a instant but last for 30 minutes, until the bus leaves.
We do have Americans that visit, because we are on Route 66.
Right now the kitchen is closed and in the future will be open to serve food, so you duties could be serving food and we will need a cook if interested.
The Bagdad Cafe was closed for awhile during Covid and since the beginning of 2024 We have been getting things cleaned up and back in shape to handle all the visitors everyday.
We just had the roof fixed and next is the inside ceiling, damage caused from all the rain, later on the kitchen.
You could grow with the success of the Bagdad Cafe as we create more items to sell and hopefully expand the building, we have 6 acres behind the Bagdad Cafe and are planning to have Campers and RV parking, so taking care of the reservations could be part of your work here, if you have ideals that could help the Bagdad Cafe we are always open to new ideals.
We created an website a few months ago so you can find out a little more about the Bagdad Cafe, The movie by the same name was filmed here 37 years ago and that is why most people come by (France) and we are also an historical Route 66 site.

The ideal candidate could be an mature woman ( or even a retired couple, but right now we only need one assistant, there could be some repair work needed once in awhile but as we grow there could be more work and maybe even full time. ) who wants to relocate out to the wide open desert area and has her own trailer/RV and then could live rent free behind the Bagdad Cafe and work for the Bagdad Cafe for your income. We could talk about making commissions on what items you help sell, we are adding new items.
If you live in the surrounding area and want to commute back and forth from your home, that would be fine. just need to be dependable to be at work when scheduled.
