Mid City Motor World is now accepting applications for an automobile light maintenance technician. This is an entry level position for someone with some experience and who is interested in getting further into the automobile maintenance and repair business. Tools will be provided for you. Basic automotive or similar experience preferred.

Hours are:
-Monday Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. with a 30 minute meal break.
SUMMARY
Functions as an experienced technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs of most vehicle components with little supervision required, and who has previously worked as a C Class general service technician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair.
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keeps shop area neat and clean.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Provide excellent customer service for all customers whether external and internal, specifically offering dependable vehicle service.
Receive service assignments from the service writer or service manager.
Have the repair work finished within the allotted time. Set goals, develop skills and constantly increase efficiency skill level.
Submit your request parts as soon as it is determined what is required for a particular job.
Keep the service writer or service manger informed of any supplemental work that may be required or of any delays to estimated completion time as you make those determinations so the customer can receive up to date information.
Aid service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or in any other way you are able to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized.
Make sure the proper paperwork is completed and filed after every job completion.
Keep your technical qualifications current by finishing any required training programs.
Take care that the vehicle is cleaner when the job is completed than when the customer dropped it off.
Make each job thorough and complete to reduce return repairs. If the vehicle should be returned for additional work complete it quickly, correctly and cheerfully.
