Gallagher's Irish Pub is hiring for a weekend lead line cook - Saturday day, and Sunday evening and eventually Monday. We are returning to the historic Eagle House and expanding our hours of operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Food preparation:
Actively cooking dishes according to established recipes, including prepping ingredients, sautéing, grilling, frying, and finishing dishes.
Supervising cooks:
Assigning tasks to cooks based on their skill level, monitoring their work to ensure proper techniques and adherence to recipes, and providing feedback and coaching.
Quality control:
Inspecting food quality throughout the cooking process, ensuring proper doneness and presentation of dishes.
Maintaining sanitation:
Ensuring the kitchen work area is clean and sanitized, following proper food handling procedures.
Inventory management:
Monitoring ingredient levels and communicating needs to the kitchen manager to maintain stock.
Communication:
Communicating with the kitchen manager, servers, and other kitchen staff regarding orders, special requests, and any issues arising during the shift.
Shift management:
Managing the flow of orders during peak times to ensure timely service.
Skills and qualifications required:
Strong culinary skills with experience in various cooking techniques
Excellent knife skills and ability to work quickly under pressure
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Leadership qualities and ability to effectively delegate tasks
Good communication skills to interact with other kitchen staff and management
