Laurel Tree Charter School is looking for someone to join our team as a one-on-one aide for a primary classroom. We're especially interested in someone with behavioral aide experience. This ten-month, 25-hour-a-week position pays $18.50 an hour. This position includes paid school vacations and sick days. This is at-will employment.
Skills and duties that will be assessed as part of being a member of a teacher-run school:
Works as a one-on-one or small group aide with special needs students.
Works with teaching staff to create and implement behavior plans. Collects data for behavior plans.
Supports special education students in the regular education classroom.
Supports teachers by filing, grading, copying, etc.
Provides supervision at recess and in aftercare.
Demonstrates and models community skills in mediation, mindfulness, and restorative practices.
Effectively and kindly handles discipline within the classroom, as well as supports teachers in collaborative discipline and opportunities for student self-reflection.
