The goal of the Sr. Market Research Analyst is to support the Director of Analytics in utilizing data to produce reports, generate insights, and summarize them in an easily digestible format to enable decision making by stakeholders across the organization. This will include market and competitor analyses, customer-specific analyses, and ad-hoc analyses to support business needs. The role requires an eye for detail, analysis experience, and an understanding of current analytics tools.Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:Functions and duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
Utilizing Circana/IRI, PowerBI and retailer specific Gateway data to understand sales trends, share, category performance, and competitive performance across the omnichannel universe.
Ensuring consistent category definition across all channels.
Utilizing current in-house data to track critical metrics such as sales/share by month, by customer, and by channel.
Analyzing and interpreting data and translating into insights/actions for the business.
Utilizing complex data sets, creating reports, visualizations, and presentations for relevant enterprise stakeholders including sales, marketing, finance, and strategy.
Performing QC checks and ensuring data reliability across all reports produced.
Using analytical skills to collaborate and consult with sales, trade management, brand, and category management groups
Supporting larger projects such as category definitions, pricing strategy, and share forecasting
Supporting new item placement processes across Circana and other data providers
Qualifications:The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in business, analytics, or equivalent.
Required: 5+ years in business insights or category management at a fast-paced, high-growth CPG company or marketing analytics firm.
Required: Demonstrated expertise in translating sales data into insights and recommendations.
Required: Expert knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Required: Strong knowledge and experience with Circana/Nielsen syndicated point of sale data.
Experience utilizing PowerBI dashboards a plus
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build rapport across functions and levels in an organization
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
