We offer competitive compensation and benefits packages for our Team Members.Logistics Operations Specialist I (Weekends - Afterhours)The Logistics Operations Specialist I is responsible for managing transportation for special program orders in the Transportation Management System (OTM). They will build optimized truckloads and tender freight to contracted carriers as well as troubleshoot and manage exceptions. These special programs include Transfers, Direct to Store (DTS), Contract Manufacturing and Alternative Channel as well as other programs beyond the scope of traditional load planning. In addition, they provide project support/leadership to the Logistics management team.Essential FunctionsResponsibilities:

Scope of load planning includes Transfers, Direct Store Delivery (DTS), Alternative Channels and special programs such as Contract Manufacturing

Responsible for ensuring all loads are covered in a timely manner that are assigned to the Load Planning Specialist

Identify exceptions and problems proactively and collaborate with planning and customer service to resolve

Expert in DTS planning which includes order entry and routing/optimization using BOTI technology and OTM.

Starting up all load planning programs for special projects in the region for freight that needs to be planned in the TMS (OTM) not managed by Load Planning Associates

Communicate with Planning, Customer Service and/or Sales team as needed regarding special programs

Monitor bulk planning process in OTM to minimize exceptions and orders that fail to plan/create shipments

Identify, trouble shoot and resolve exceptions in the load planning process

Monitor tendering process and OTM shipment status to ensure all loads are tender accepted

Communicate with carriers to ensure contractual obligations are met during tendering process

Identify loads that do not have available carrier capacity and send to Cost Management team for adhoc coverage /spot process

Maintaining and updating all SOPs associated with the specialized load planning function

Identifying and developing solutions for improvements in process and communication between departments

Collaborating with Logistics Planning Lead and other team members

Communicating and escalating when critical shipments do not have carrier coverage

Identifying and escalating recurring system issues to IT team

Work closely with Regional Logistics Procurement team to ensure smooth hand off of information between teams

Collaborate with cross functional Supply Chain team in designated region to resolve issues (Planning, Customer Service, Transportation, Procurement)

Respond to e-mails/inquiries from internal customers such as customer service, planning, logistics operations teams, sales

Respond to e-mails/inquiries from external customers such as carriers. Communicate all exceptions (including fluctuations in daily demand and rush orders) to Sales Manage, Carrier Relations, Strategic Planning and Order Management.

Ensure production output and carrier capacity sufficiently meets customer demand.

Work with Planning on any large changes (additions or deletions) to ensure that product is allocated properly.

Work with Carrier Relations to ensure we have the right quantity of trucks at the best price to meet the customer needs.

Manage orders through supply plan - includes proactively identifying potential needs for rush orders to improve in-stocks as well as collaborating with Strategic Planning in allocating production when supply constrained (such as DTS before DC or product sharing arrangements).

Track all outbound shipments.

Ensure carriers are tracking for on-time pickup.

Identify recovery opportunities early based on carrier feedback.

Track shipped loads through delivery confirmation.

Collaborate with DTS management and Carrier Relations on OT performance metrics to improve service to customer.

Manage trailer pools by carrier at each facility and project manage as necessary to maintain within set control parameters.

Collaborate with Sales Manager/Carrier Relations/Strategic Planning and Customer Solutions/Order Management for planning and execution of all special programs and projects.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and service level improvement.
