Staff Environmental Engineer Job DescriptionAs a Staff Environmental Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Your ability to balance assistant project management tasks with technical expertise will be crucial. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications:Responsibilities:

Project Management Support:

Assist Project Managers and Client Account Managers in project delivery.

Coordinate field and office work assignments.

Ensure adherence to quality, budget, and schedule expectations.

Technical Expertise:

Direct, coach, and support staff to execute projects successfully.

Conduct field work, including:

Operation, maintenance, and monitoring of environmental remediation systems.

Installation, sampling, and maintenance of groundwater and soil vapor extraction and monitoring wells.

Construction oversight for remediation and mitigation projects.

Soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigations and sampling.

Handle office tasks:

Report writing, data evaluation, and task management.

Schedule coordination with staff, subcontractors, and vendors.

Regulatory Compliance:

Thorough knowledge of Federal and California state environmental regulations.

Ensure projects comply with all federal, state, and local requirements.

Communicate effectively with clients, property owners, tenants, and regulators.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology.

Certifications:

EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification.

GIT (Geologist-in-Training) certification.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of local environmental engineering and consulting experience.

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training desirable.

Proficient in technical writing and verbal communication.

Familiarity with Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Access, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Advanced Degrees:

M.S. or Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (preferred).

Ability to sit for CA PE (Professional Engineer) registration within 1 year of hire.
