DescriptionLiberty Safety, a respected wholesaler of personal protective equipment (PPE), is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Accounting Team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will process, verify, and reconcile invoices and ensure that bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner.Responsibilities:
Manage all vendors, will be the first point of contact to respond to vendor inquiries and assist in research of any discrepancies and reconciliation in billings and payments.
Data entry of all invoices and related documentation. Will review purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed in accordance with internal accounting policies; will process payment schedules via preferred payment method.
Collaborate with purchasing department to collect documentation and approvals needed for invoice processing.
Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments.
Support Accounting department staff as needed and assist with monthly, quarterly, half year-end, year-end tasks, manage special projects, and any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.
3+ years of accounting experience working in an Accounts Payable computerized environment.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience using SAGE X3 is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP is strongly preferred.
Strong problem solving, analytical, and investigation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task projects, be self-motivated, and ability to work independently or as a team.
Must be detail oriented and be able to work under pressure with repetitive and tedious work.
Must be available to work overtime and some holidays as needed due to month/year-end activities.
