(Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988) Position InformationClass Code: T036CGrade: GS07FLSA Status: EXEMPTSalary Range: $40,340.00 - $58,493.00SummaryThe Military Facilities Supervisor is responsible for directing the maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds at Camp Robinson, statewide National Guard armories, and organizational maintenance shops. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsSupervises a medium-sized professional and administrative support staff by interviewing and recommending for hire, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Receives work orders and inspects facilities and grounds at Camp Robinson, statewide National Guard armories, and organizational maintenance workshops for needed maintenance and repairs. Determines source and availability of funds for maintenance and repairs, and schedules projects to establish work priorities. Monitors and evaluates progress on maintenance and repair projects by conducting on-site inspections and provides technical guidance to subordinates on work activities. Develops and recommends policies and procedures to meet the changes in the needs of maintenance and repair operations and to ensure adequate safety procedures. Assesses staff, materials, and equipment needs for the operations managed to develop budget requests. Serves as liaison between the Arkansas Military Department and private contractors to obtain specialized maintenance and repair work. Collects and analyzes data to write feasibility, cost analysis, and maintenance studies, as requested by the Military Department. Coordinates with the State Building Services to provide specifications for contract items required for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of facilities. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsFrequent in-state travel is required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of supervisory practices and procedures. Knowledge of building operations and grounds maintenance procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates. Ability to plan and coordinate maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds. Ability to develop/recommend maintenance and repairs policies and procedures. Ability to assess needs and develop budget request. Ability to obtain and analyze data and prepare cost analysis and maintenance reports.Minimum QualificationsThe formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus seven years of experience in construction, maintenance, or a related field including one year of supervisory experience. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
