Part-time Attendant Care/Respite Care Worker for 17-year-old Male with Cerebral Palsy – Morning Hours M-Thursday, plus all day Friday – Can include Evenings and Weekends if desired– Near Sabino Canyon
We are looking for a part-time attendant care/respite care worker for my son who is severely disabled with cerebral palsy. This would be a great job for someone who wants to go into physical therapy or a related field. He prefers a male provider, but women with enough strength to lift/transfer a 90- to 100-pound person are welcome to apply.
The employer of record is a local agency, and funding for the position comes through DDD/ALTCS. The hours are 7:30 am to 10:30 am or 11:30 am Monday through Thursday, plus all day Fridays 7:30 to 4:00. This role could also include generally agreed-upon evenings and weekends. The current pay rate for Attendant Care is about $16.00, and Respite Care is about $15.50. The responsibilities of this role include assisting with toileting, g-tube feeds, lifting and transferring, stretching/daily exercises, maintaining a safe environment, and having fun. To be considered for this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:
At least 18 years of age.
Successful completion of a background check.
Completion of the required minimum training classes (approximately 10 hours, paid).
Ability to obtain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card.
Access to a reliable car to and from our home.
Clean driving record, as using our wheelchair van for activities with my son may be an option.
Physical capability to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and kneeling.
