Description Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Accountant who is ready to elevate their career to the Senior Accountant level! The role will be temp-to-hire, and this opportunity enables you to coordinate accounting functions and programs in a reputable, long-standing non-profit organization. This position involves preparing and analyzing financial reports, revenue and expenditure forecasts, assisting with budgets, and maintaining balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate accounting functions and programs.

Prepare financial analyses and reports for management's decision-making.

Prepare revenue projections and forecast expenditure.

Assist with developing and monitoring budgets.

Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

Assist with the annual audit preparations.

Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance issues.

Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns in compliance with established laws and regulations.

Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

Support junior accounting staff and perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, is preferred

Significant experience as a Staff Accountant, ideally in the non-profit sector, however, open to those who want to learn the industry

Comprehensive understanding of accounting procedures and principles.

Proficient with accounting software and MS Excel.

Excellent analytical abilities and attention to details.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
