The permanent Controller position is situated in the Tucson, Arizona area. To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Year end closings experience
Demonstrated knowledge of costing
Adeptness in costing
Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Proficiency in general ledger
Command of Controllership Functions
CPA/MBA preferred
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
