Overview:
The Landscaping Maintenance Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily maintenance operations for residential and commercial landscapes. This role ensures that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Crew Lead provides direction to team members, manages and communicates with clients and supervisors to maintain customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership & Supervision
-Lead and supervise a crew of landscaping maintenance workers.
-Train new employees on proper landscaping techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures.
-Assign daily tasks and monitor work progress to ensure efficiency and quality.
2. Landscaping Maintenance & Execution
-Perform and oversee routine landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
-Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment, such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems.
-Identify plant health issues and implement appropriate solutions.
3. Quality Control & Safety Compliance
-Ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations.
-Follow and enforce safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
4. Client Communication & Service
-Act as the primary point of contact for clients during maintenance visits.
-Address client concerns, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with services.
-Report any landscape issues or additional service opportunities to management.
5. Administrative & Logistical Duties
-Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and hours worked.
-Monitor inventory levels of tools, equipment, and supplies, and request replacements as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
-Previous experience in landscaping maintenance, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
-Strong knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, irrigation systems, and landscape equipment operation.
-Ability to lead and motivate a team while ensuring high-quality work.
-Good communication and problem-solving skills.
-Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
-Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-This role requires a proactive leader with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to ensure that landscapes remain beautiful, functional, and well-maintained.
