Position Summary

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for production scheduling? We are a contract manufacturer of plastic and metal components focused on supporting the aerospace, defense, semiconductor and medical industries, and we are seeking a talented and experienced Scheduler to join our dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring production schedules. Your expertise in production planning, mitigating risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams will be instrumental in driving the success of our team. The Scheduler's responsibility is to assure production is scheduled accurately to achieve 100% on time delivery with minimal inventory. Also responsible for production scheduling, to make the most efficient use of time and resources. The scheduler determines what parts to produce and when. Production schedulers decide which products to build and the machines or production lines that will produce them. Must also keep track of production numbers and anticipate problems that could affect the schedule. Location: Tempe - Priest & Southern

Shift: Full-time – Monday thru Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities

Prepare production schedules that are logic-tied, complete, and accurate in detail depicting contract milestone dates, work activities, deliverables, and accurate cycle times.

Ensure schedules developed consider customer outages and/or critical milestones.

Monitor workflow progress, update schedules regularly, identify potential delays or risks that may impact project timelines, and develop contingency plans to mitigate.

Perform weekly open order report updates.

Create & plan production workflow packets for production.

Review/monitor forecasts and make changes to ensure on time deliveries.

Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Communicate schedule updates and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Locates parts / work orders within the manufacturing facility and moves parts to subsequent operations as required to minimize delay through the process.

Resolve scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise during project execution.

Check deliveries against demand to ensure product is needed.

Assists manufacturing personnel in expediting parts to completion.

Communicate schedule updates and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

When schedule recovery is necessary, identifies and analyzes solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods

Works closely with production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, operators and schedules work accordingly.

Coordinates interdepartmental activity with Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure production and customer specifications are accurate and production schedules are timely.

Monitors status and provides regular updates to management on upcoming production priorities

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, preferably in an aerospace machine shop

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials management, and inventory control.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
